Trips with MitzDstylez

The best way to get over a horrible job.... Go to New Orleans!!!!!

I had an amazing time! My close girlfriend Adanna had been planning her trip to New Orleans Mardi Gras for quiet sometime. We were talking on the phone and I told her how stressed out I was about being payed off, shortly after all my complaining I had my iterinary to join her to New Orleans. So glad she convinced me to go... Whooooo! Hoooo! Off to packing I go. What was the weather there? Do I need a coat? Of course styling my New Orleans looks was therapy for me....

I summoned my business partner Lani Woo over (she's an expert on travel packing :-)). She helped me with packing my outfits small and smart because I was not about to pay for overweight luggage. okay! I also wanted to make sure I had space just in case I buy something while on my trip. We checked the weather and packed for 40'-50' degree weather.
So we made it but I should've packed for 20' Degrees weather! Man was it cold. Yes, I'm originally from New York and I should be use to it but NO I'm not!

I wanted to make sure I was warm yet cute. So I layered my clothes and styled my one blazer differently with almost every outfit. Lol

We had a ball, we decided to do things the smart and cheap way. So we bought a few bottles of wine and a bottle of vodka for our room and made drinks before leaving the hotel. The drinks were in plastic bottles so very easy to store away while we took a dance break :-). The Zulu Parade was amazing! Now, I've been to my share of parades for Labor Day in Brooklyn, NY but nothing compared to this. I mean these floats have a band, everyone is in costume, line dancers the works. The traditional beads, coconut, toys, the works. Catching from the floats was fun too. Of course Adanna got footage of me trying to catch some beads on our first night of Mardi Gras. They say if you catch a coconut you'll have good luck well I caught two and Waterhead (nickname..hehe) caught FIVE! I've already made a mental note to stay close to her this year. :-)

We also went on a swamp tour which was an awesome experience. Again we prepared for the weather by taking some wine for the road. We learned a little history on New Orleans as well as enjoying some reptile love. Take a look...
I'm sure going to miss walking down Bourbon St hoping from bar to bar accumulating a crowd from each bar because Adonna and I turn up everywhere we go!!!! New Orleans people are alright with me. Very warm, laid back and most importantly drunk and funny!!! Of course these two BK chicks had to do a little shopping therapy, taste testing, bike riding etc. On a whole this trip was a stress relief from everything I was dealing with at home. I went home a new girl ready to face another chapter of MitzDstylez!
