In honor of Black History Month.. The Soul Era

The key to keeping your brand/style fresh and new is to continue to allow yourself to be inspired. This to me is your fuel... Inspiration! Now, this can differ from one individual to a next. My fuel this past weekend was The Soul Era hosted by June Ambrose (Celebrity Stylist), Johnetta Boone (Fashion Designer, Evelyn Onyejuruwa (CEO & Founder of Ankara Miami) with the lovely Neki Mohan (Anchor for channel 10 news) as the moderator. I had a blast!!!!! My partner (Lani Woo) and I were like two kids in a candy store. We both get geedy when amongst artistic energy. We walked in exactly at 2:00 pm when the show started. We were greeted with a warm smile as well as a treat from C&B Sweets Designs. Which was delicious by the way... Macy's started off the show with a amazing performance, this young lady really kept the audience entertained. Then I saw her.... June Ambrose! I've been following June ever since I saw her reality show Style By June. I thought she was such a free spirited women but yet organized and driven on how she wanted to brand her business.

So driven that she was in the emergency room the day before the event in Atlanta and still hopped on a plane to Florida to cover the Soul Era Back History Fashion at Aventura Macy's. The show must go on, right?! I love her spirit, she was so easy going. The entire Soul Era Panel brought an empowered and inspirational conversation to room full of artistic women/gentlemen hungry for more talks on Fashion.

After having a great discussion on the fashion icons we got a sneak peak of The Ankara Miami Fashion Show. Enjoy!
