Bringing Hope Through Style 1/24/15

Ladies of Bringing Hope Through Style!!!!

I am so amazed on how much we accomplished in less than six months! I would like to take a moment to thank Lani of LaniWoo Fashion and Berny of Berny Creations for their hard work and dedication to this event. Ladies it was a pleasure and honor to work with you both on this fundraising event for Women In Distress of Broward County, LLC www.womenindistress.org/.
We had an awesome time spreading the word to the community on how important it is to support our abused and battered women. Uplifting one another helps you to uplift yourself.
I've always been a strong advocate for women empowerment, but once I started volunteering at the Women In Distress shelter I knew I had to do something to give back to the community. Since all three of us were already in the fashion industry Lani Woo is an Image Consultant, Berny Frias-Cedeno is a  jewelry designer and I'm also an Image Consultant, we figured we would show women how fashion can make them feel better about themselves even in the worst situations.

The goal, the message, and awareness of this self-love was definitely voiced at our event. There was a sense of compassion and support throughout the building. Just imagine being served wine and sweets for refreshments. Thanks to BJ's on their generous contribution of wine and Divalicious Desserts By Emma for the sweets. Along with old school and new school tunes from the infamous Dj Yoshe. We also had a handful of vendors.. Berny Creations had her table decked out with some amazing jewelry, Hands of Jes came out with her massage chair to keep the audience tense free with 5 min complimentary massages, Yeyefini with her spiritual coaching techniques, Tracy provided health coaching, Clarence provided an amazing photo-booth for our guest to take their best pics. Tangley Mobley brought a swerve to coffee, Dugazon brought a unique spread of printed bow ties along with women clothing. Mario from HeadzUp Studio gave us a demonstration on how natural hair can be coiled in 5 mins tops.

Here's a clip of all the wonderful vendors and entertainers of the BHTS Event.

Our guest were given enough time to meet, greet, sample, shop, network at the BHTS event. For entertainment we had a spoken word artistic and poet Ayesha Nura, Pop Artist Khoulay, and the Thrift Obsession fashion show featuring items from WID Thriftstore and plus-sized pieces from Voluptuous You.

Here's a pic of the BHTS shopping/goofing around at WID Thrift Store for fashion show looks..

I felt so accomplished after the event was over. I was overwhelmed with all the love in the room, not to mention the genuine need to spread the word about domestic violence. Still feeling incredibly humbled by all the love from family, friends, and the community. Can't wait to work with Berny and Lani again. BHTS to the world!!!!! Here are some pics from the Thrift Obsession, styled by yours truly MitzDstylez and Lani Woo.

After an amazing event we were so excited to hand WID with a check...
Special thanks to the photographers and bloggers who covered this fantastic event.
